Minja skulpure from Papua New Guinea from the tribe Nukuma or Kwoma - 20th century The tribes practicing the Yamskult and Minjas serve a cult figure to be used for the harvest ritual to mount the yam tubers and decorate it altar like with the Minja sculpture; the Nukumas and Kwomas live in the foot hills of the ascending of the Ambunti hills.

This is one of part of a collection purchased from the estate of a collector of original tribal artefacts.
