Lady Dior - the birth of Dior's iconic handbag

When it comes to the iconic products of Dior, Lady Dior must be the classic of the classics, so how did it born? Why it’s named Lady Dior?

This story begins with a small anecdote in 1995, when Bernadette Chirac, the first lady of France, gave Dior's latest an elegant black stitched leather bag to Lady Diana, the Princess of Wales immediately fell in love with this bag and ordered a variety of styles of this bag. When Princess Diana interviewed the orphanage a few months later, she was photographed by the media of the bag she was carrying. A few weeks later, when she got off the plane in Argentina, she was photographed carrying this bag again. Which makes the bag popular. and then Dior renamed the bag lady Dior, and it became one of the iconic dior bag.

Lady Dior is one of the most famous bags in the world, especially for its craftsmanship. The bag combines the creativity of designer John Galliano with the craftsmanship of artisans in Florence. Each Lady Dior takes more than eight hours to make and requires the skills of seven artisans. 130 pieces of leather are required for the production of each bag and they must be dyed, polished and sewn together by hand. Each piece is cut by hand and then put them together around a wooden mold. The bejewelled DIOR letters, available in silver or gold tone metal hardware, the thoughtful details that go into each part of the bag, from seam-sealed leather handles to the small zippered interior pocket. And this crafted handbag is available in a variety of styles and colors, including black, blue, red and gray...
