Athelhampton House: A rare Elizabeth I oak side table, circa 1570

Having a one-piece square-edged top, a nulled-carved frieze drawer and chip-carved rails, on front reel over baluster-turned legs terminating in turned feet. With working key.
Provenance: The Cooke Collection, Athelhampton House, Dorset, a grade I listed Tudor Manor House. Athelhampton Collection Label (no.578) to the inside of the drawer.
