The thick one-piece hinged top with cleated ends, bold iron strap hinges, the front with a top band of bold nulled-carving over three deeply and proficient chip-carved reliefs, flanked by crenelated upright bands, the sides descending to cut-away supports with front and rear projecting profile, working lock and key
A chest, almost certainly from the same workshop, sold Christie's, London, 2 November 2011, Lot 340, incorrectly dated to the mid-16th century
