Sampson Mordan & Co. was a renowned British silversmith and manufacturer of fine writing instruments, established in the early 19th century. Founded by Sampson Mordan, who co-invented the first mechanical pencil in 1822, the firm became famous for its high-quality craftsmanship and innovative designs.

The company produced a wide range of silverware, including snuff boxes, scent bottles, and novelty items, often marked with the "S.M & Co" hallmark. Known for combining function with elegance, Sampson Mordan pieces are highly collectible today. The company operated successfully until it was destroyed during the London Blitz in World War II, ceasing operations thereafter.
