16th century extract from a Tudor manuscript.

Tudor paper production involved soaking and pulping linen or cotton rags, which were then pressed into sheets using a wooden frame. These sheets were dried, smoothed, and sometimes watermarked. This labour-intensive process resulted in sturdy, high-quality paper that was essential for books, legal documents, and correspondence in Tudor England.
