An unusual English 6-shot pin-fire, breech-loading pepperbox revolver, circa 1850.
Pepperbox revolvers, popular in the early 19th century, are multi-barrel firearms featuring rotating barrels that allowed for multiple shots without reloading. Often used as a backup weapon or for personal defence, they were known for their distinctive, cylindrical design. Despite their innovation, they were eventually surpassed by more advanced revolvers.
