A rare early Robert Cruikshank framed coloured aquatint depicting the Battle of Arcole, published in 1800.

Robert Cruikshank (1791-1878) was a notable British artist and illustrator renowned for his satirical works and caricatures. He was the brother of the more famous George Cruikshank and gained prominence in the 19th century for his humorous depictions of society, politics, and the everyday life of London.

Cruikshank contributed illustrations to various publications, including "Punch" and "The Illustrated London News." His keen eye for detail and wit captured the essence of his time, making his art both entertaining and historically significant.
