Mélissa Beaulieu
Melissa's artistic approach is inspired by life and the series of moments and events that shape us into the people we become. Her art is composed of both spontaneous and calculated compositions, with an imaginative linework, complex layering, and an eye-catching colour palette. To bring her paintings to life, she pulls inspiration from abstraction, interpreting her emotions and unique feelings through her brush strokes.
Her spontaneous painting movements and the broad strokes of colour she adds with wide brushes have a style and ardour to them. Delicate lines created with pastel or graphite that integrate colour and form emerge from the abstraction to make a beautiful composition. Despite her work being centered on spontaneous strokes, Melissa also considers how the new elements interact with one another when she paints. She aims to portray the immediacy and dynamism of the relationships between the elements, as well as how the exchanges resonate over the canvas.
Melissa believes that art must be inspired by life in order for the creations and expressions contained within it to be true. She wants her abstract gestures to attract and captivate the viewer with her unique and creative expression, showing the depth of the concepts and feelings inherent inside them. She aims to expose the process and make the viewer step into her world.
